Earlier this week, we listened to a song called" Scars to your beautiful". Believe us; that song was about accepting and embracing your skin color. It was fascinating because both black and fair-skinned were appreciating and loving themselves more than ever.
Skin colors are beautiful; either white, black, or chocolate popping. If you have seen a bold, black, beautiful-skinned woman/man before, then you know where we are coming from. People categorize beauty to be fair or light-skinned.
Society accepts fair-skinned people more than other colors. Maybe because of the attractiveness that comes with that skin tone. However, all-natural skin color is the about perfection. Beauty comes with confidence and not only by the color of your skin.
Also, we accidentality came across a picture of a bleached-skinned woman on social media. It was disgusting! If beauty comes with all shades of skin color, then why go the extra mile to get harsh products on our skin? Do we even know the side effect of these products?
Well, our job is to enlighten you about why people want to change their skin color and the side effect of their actions.
As we might have heard, the skin is the largest organ of the body which protects us from elements, and microbes, permits sensation of touch, heat, and cold, and regulates body temperature.
Plus, the skin color comprises cells called melanocytes, which produce pigment melanin. Thus, because of the pigment, the skin has three layers which include the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis which protect it from worn-out and any damage.
The epidermis creates skin tone, the dermis comprises hair follicles, a heat gland, while they made the hypodermis of a connective gland and fats.
Do you remember the melanocytes that were mentioned earlier? Of course, you do! It’s in the epidermis which is to create all these unique skin colors throughout the world. Now, you know the process of your skin tone, right? Then, why use bleaching cream?
The intensity of how lighter skin tone is acceptable in our society has made many people use a variety of harsh creams on their skin without thinking of the effects. Black-skinned tone has more melanin hormones, certain chemicals, and sunlight than light-skinned.
So, the usage of bleaching ointments on the skin will reduce the number of melanocytes in the skin. This will cause light skin tone and attractiveness. Also, because of the diversity of our opinion and reasonings, we act in different ways. Hence, we can use bleaching creams to treat specific dark areas, such as hyperpigmentation and melasma.
However, we find the many reasons individuals use bleaching creams even though various substances exist in them, such as hydroquinone, mercury, cysteamine, botanicals, and other agents. Therefore, they cause health hazards to our skin.
In many areas, unregulated goods, such as bleaching products, are sold without disclosing their contents or with misleading labels. Although, the danger varies depending on its concentration, component used, application area, and duration time.
Nevertheless, this does not justify that bleaching cream is not acceptable.
However, it is crucial to tell people about some of the side effects of their beauty processes. Don’t you think?
Researchers have made it known that people that use excessive hydroquinone products are likely to have body odor. How does this happen?
Some persons experience fish odors in bodily secretions like perspiration and urine after using hypo quinone when combined with specific foods such as fish, offal, eggs, and beans. We don’t think we want to walk into a room smiling like a dead fish, do we?
Now, accepting your skin tone makes you need to walk through that room with your head high, a warming smile with the most beautiful and astonishing skin tone that you have. Embrace it!
