You are what you eat

Back in the day, our mothers told us what not to eat and what to eat. It wasn't to our satisfaction. But then, we had to obey them. I mean, we still want to enjoy our doughnuts, chocolate, and vanilla yogurt at a young age. Even in adulthood, we are still thinking about all we have listed.

Even though the food listed is not the problem, we still have to be conscious of what we take in, right? Too much of everything is not good, they say, unlike money. Calm down; just joking. You might be wondering where this is going.

Sit down, take a deep breath, drink coffee or tea, and relax. Let me take you through the journey of how important what you eat is.

There is a misconception that watching what you take is about weight loss. Is this true? Well, part of it might be genuine. However, you might be looking at it in the wrong direction. Do you know that specific vitamins and minerals are supposed to be in your daily intake? I bet you are not aware of that. Well, I guess that's why we are here for you.

One thing I'm confident of the significance is FOOD. However, it must be taken in the right proportion. You must know that a high diet in any one component is unhealthy. Also, a low diet in any component is not good for your health. So, if you take in too many carbohydrates, you are inviting high blood sugar. You don't want to have that,  do you?

I'm pretty sure people are confused with the high and low diets. Don't be! Because of this confusion, some families had to work with a meal timetable every day. This helps them include the necessary proportion of nutrients in their meal. Sometimes I wonder how they are keeping up to that. Nevertheless, it works for them. This takes us to our next topic.

Yummy right?

A balanced diet is part of the topics we learn in most primary and secondary schools. All of the body's nutritional requirements are met by a balanced diet. Each body part needs a certain number of calories and nutrients to remain active and healthy. The amount of energy contained in a food is indicated by the number of calories in that food.

Calories from meals are used for essential bodily processes like breathing, walking, and thinking. In addition, the nutrients consist of carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamin, mineral, and water. Trust me; your daily intake must have all of these nutrients.

Carbohydrates are the source of body energy. While protein and fat boost brain health. Fat and minerals help to fight infections in our bodies. Also, water helps to carry nutrients and oxygen to your cells. All of these nutrients have their benefits for your body. The amazing part is that we can't neglect any. Therefore, we need to be intentional about what we take in. This is the beginning of our healthy living.

Noxious Food To Avoid

Healthy living is achievable if only you include the right proportion of nutrients in your food. Also, you must ensure your food doesn't have too much of one other nutrient. Below is the list of food to avoid or minimize in your daily intake.

Alcohol

Processed meat

Highly processed food

Extra salts and sugar

Refined grains

Do you want to stay fit? Do you want to live Healthily? Do you want to be older and still be healthy? Well, the good news is that it all depends on you. The quality of your consumption affects your health.

Do you love food as much as I do? Don’t try to judge! Eating healthy food is essential.

Lastly, we would leave you with food that benefits your health. These include;

Water

Fish

Vegetables

Organic yogurt

Berries

Fruits

Beans and lentils

Trust me; the list is endless. Therefore, before the next post, I was hoping you could tell me what particular food your parents won't allow you to eat when you are little... I'm sure you have one or two.
